“God is in the details”. Composition is everything. The subject matter acts as the palette for image making. I am process driven from start to finish. I begin with defining a concept from having respect for the subject matter. What is the nature of the subject? Where will the photograph be seen, by whom, and what does it need to say? I enjoy setting the stage with all the visual “actors” ; Quality of light, shape, color, texture and form. There, on that textural stage, I seek that magic moment. I am prepared for the unexpected. That is where true beauty lies.

The selected work in my portfolio is a photographic exploration of composition. All visual information can be reduced to simple universal symbols or abstract shapes. These archetypal signs such as the circle, the square or the triangle, when positioned intentionally in a defined space, can produce the visual sensation of sound. Individually these signs possess their own melody. The repetition of similar forms are heard with the human eye. Music as metaphor determines the aesthetic approach to making images. The result is an image that sings.
